Heat and thunderstorms are expected to hit Ukraine on June 7

On Sunday, June 7, a sharp change in weather is expected across Ukraine: some regions will experience thunderstorms, hail, and squalls, while others will see near-summer heat reaching up to 29 degrees. Forecasters are warning of dangerous weather conditions in a number of regions.

The weather in Ukraine on June 7 has decided not to stick to a single scenario and has divided the country into zones of heat, rain, and stark thunderstorm contrasts, with one region experiencing near-summer heat while another faces downpours with hail and gusty winds.

Forecasters predict cloudy skies with some sunny breaks, and in most regions, except for the east, there will be moderate rain and thunderstorms, in some places with hail and squalls of up to 15–20 m/s, with significant precipitation even expected in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Kyiv regions.

The night across the country will be relatively mild, with temperatures ranging from +13 to +18 degrees, and slightly cooler in the west—down to +10, while during the day the air will warm up to +24…+29 degrees, but in the west, as well as in the Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, and Odesa regions, it will be noticeably cooler—around +20…+25. Separately, forecasters are warning of dangerous weather conditions in Kyiv and the surrounding region, where heavy rain, thunderstorms, hail, and strong gusts of wind are expected, prompting a yellow danger alert.

In the capital, cloudy skies with some sunny breaks, thunderstorms, and squalls up to 20 m/s are also forecast, while daytime temperatures will remain around +21…+23 degrees, creating rather unstable and changeable weather conditions throughout the day. This is reported by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
