Stefanchuk commented on rumors that the Rada would move to Lviv

The Verkhovna Rada has no plans to relocate its operations from Kyiv to Lviv amid the threat of attacks by the Russian Federation and will continue to operate from its building at 5 Hrushevsky Street. This was stated by Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The politician refuted speculation circulating in the media and on social media about a possible relocation of parliament from the capital and the holding of votes in Lviv. He emphasized that members of parliament have remained in the capital since the start of the full-scale invasion.

“The Ukrainian parliament has been working since the first day of the war and, as long as it is possible, will continue to work at 5 Hrushevsky Street. That’s the end of the story, and let’s set the record straight so that we don’t spread any myths,” the speaker emphasized.

As a reminder, despite a host of important unadopted laws, the Verkhovna Rada suspended its plenary sessions for as long as 26 days—from September 17 to October 13, 2026. At the same time, according to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat, this is by no means a vacation—the deputies are reportedly participating in the work of committees, working groups, temporary investigative commissions, and special commissions during this time. 

MP Kostyuk criticized the Rada for taking a “vacation” and posted a photo from a water park in Bukovel.
