The government has extended the mechanism for imposing special obligations (PSO) on the natural gas market. The decision provides for maintaining the current conditions for consumers through March 31, 2027.
Thus, the fixed gas price for consumers will remain in effect throughout the entire heating season.
For the general public, the extension of the PSO means that the price of natural gas will remain unchanged throughout the fall and winter.
It will also allow for the preservation of preferential rates for heat supply companies, as well as the continuation of terms for the sale of natural gas to gas distribution system operators and for cogeneration in frontline territories.
Currently, the cost of a cubic meter of gas is 7.96 UAH, excluding distribution costs.
“In the context of the war, this is an important decision for millions of Ukrainian families. It will ensure a reliable and uninterrupted supply of natural gas, the safety and reliability of the natural gas market, and the stable operation of heating facilities and Ukraine’s power grid as a whole,” Shmyhal wrote.
Thiswas announcedbyFirst Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.
In Kyiv, the water rate has been raised to 63.79 hryvnia.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated the need to revise tariffs for centralized water supply and wastewater disposal. According to him, a wave of price changes for water utility services is being observed across all regions of Ukraine, as the industry is on the verge of a shutdown due to rising prices for electricity, fuel, and chemical reagents.
