The shooting at a school in Chop, Transcarpathia, has been classified as a terrorist act

The Transcarpathian Regional Police have classified the actions of a 15-year-old student, who opened fire at a school in the city of Chop on April 14, as a terrorist act. 

This was reported by the Transcarpathian police on Facebook.

The investigation established that the boy may have acted under psychological pressure from unidentified individuals whom he met through an online game. According to the detainee, he was threatened with violence against his loved ones if he failed to comply with their demands. Patrol officers detained the shooter within minutes of the incident as he attempted to flee the scene.

Investigative proceedings are currently underway under Part 1 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (terrorist attack) to establish all the circumstances and identify the individuals involved in organizing the attack. Law enforcement officials are thoroughly examining the messaging apps and communication channels through which the minor was influenced. Special attention is being paid to the origin of the weapon, which had been modified into a firearm.

In Zakarpattia, police are locating the parents of a ninth-grader who opened fire at school and wounded another student. According to law enforcement, the teenager is currently refusing to communicate with psychologists.

According to police, the ninth-grader pulled out a pistol during class and fired two shots, one of which wounded his classmate. After the incident, the minor fled but was later apprehended by law enforcement.
