A court has confiscated a Toyota Land Cruiser worth 2 million hryvnias from a Chernihiv lawmaker
The High Anti-Corruption Court has granted the claim filed by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and ruled that a 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser 200, which was used by a member of the Chernihiv Regional Council, constitutes an unjustified asset. The SUV, valued at approximately 2 million hryvnias, will be confiscated and transferred to the state treasury.
This was reported by the press service of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP).
The lawsuit was based on lifestyle monitoring materials conducted by the National Agency for Corruption Prevention, as well as evidence independently gathered by the prosecutor. The investigation established that in 2023, the vehicle was officially purchased by an acquaintance of the deputy, but in fact, the vehicle was used exclusively by the official, for whom a power of attorney granting the right to dispose of the property was also issued on the day of purchase.
A detailed analysis of the income and expenses of the Chernihiv lawmaker, her family members, and an associated individual revealed a complete lack of sufficient legal funds to purchase such an expensive asset. Pursuant to the anti-corruption court’s decision, the confiscated SUV is transferred to state ownership. At the same time, this court decision may still be appealed by the defense in accordance with the procedure established by law.
The High Anti-Corruption Court ruled that the assets of MP Serhiy Lytvynenko were unjustified and ordered the value of three luxury cars to be forfeited to the state.
