A court in Dnipro sentenced a man to six years in prison for manufacturing explosives for a terrorist attack

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Dnipro sentenced a man who agreed to manufacture a homemade explosive device for the purpose of committing a terrorist act to six years in prison, with all his property to be confiscated.

The perpetrator was to receive monetary compensation for carrying out this task.

According to court records, in August 2025, the defendant received an attractive offer via the Telegram messaging app.

Unknown individuals offered him $3,000 to create the explosive device and subsequently leave it at a predetermined location. The organizers provided clear instructions on further actions and the location of the materials needed for the task.

The man retrieved a sports bag from a specially equipped hiding place, which contained the main components of the future dangerous device.

He then purchased additional materials on his own at retail stores and began manufacturing the explosive in a rented apartment.

The man did not manage to carry out his criminal plan to completion, as law enforcement officers detained him in time.

As established by the pre-trial investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine uncovered this illegal scheme thanks to another citizen who had also been offered a similar opportunity to cooperate.

The court extended Trukhanov’s detention until August 1
