The court acquitted the key witness in the case involving NABU detective Magamedrasulov

The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv acquitted Yusuf Mameshev, who had been accused of giving false testimony in the case involving NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov. In court, Mameshev gave testimony that undermines the charges against the NABU detective.

This was reported by the organization ZMINA.

The prosecution sought two years of restricted freedom for Mameshev, but the court ruled that the elements of the crime had not been proven. Detective Magamedrasulov, who had previously investigated businessman Timur Mindich, links his prosecution for alleged cannabis trafficking with Russia to the anti-corruption operation “Midas, while witness Mameshev insisted in court on the defense’s version regarding shipments to Uzbekistan.

As a reminder, suspect Magamedrasulov confirmed that he was tortured in the detention center and did not dispute the authenticity of the so-called “Mindich tapes.”

On December 2, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv released Sentyabr Magamedrasulov, the father of NABU detective Ruslan Magamedrasulov, from pretrial detention; both are suspected of “organizing illegal trade with Russia.”
