Svyrydenko instructed officials to secure additional funds for road repairs

Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has instructed the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development to step up efforts to secure additional resources for road repairs under state guarantees and with the participation of international partners.

Svyrydenko also reported that since the beginning of 2026, over 1 million square meters of road damage has already been repaired in the country, which is the highest figure in the last six years. The government has set strict deadlines: routine repairs of international highways must be completed by May 1, and all major work by June 1.

Logistics in frontline areas to support military, medical, and humanitarian needs has been identified as a separate priority. Units of the State Special Transport Service will begin repair work within a 30-kilometer zone from the line of contact, based on a list of sites agreed upon with the military. An additional 1.5 billion hryvnias has been allocated for this effort.

Funding for the road sector currently comes from several sources, including 3 billion hryvnias already allocated from the reserve fund. In addition, the 2026 state budget allocates 12.6 billion hryvnias for road repair and maintenance. The Prime Minister emphasized the need to reach maximum daily work volumes by the end of March to ensure the timely completion of the assigned tasks.
