Taras Kachka will combine his work with the EU with his role as Ukraine's trade representative

Taras Kachka, former Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, will continue his work on European affairs, representing Ukraine at the EU. At the same time, he will combine this role with that of Ukraine’s trade representative under bilateral agreements with partners.

According to the head of state, Kachka will be able to carry out these tasks most effectively at the Mission of Ukraine to the EU in Brussels. He also noted that Ukraine is awaiting a decision on the opening of four more negotiation clusters as part of its EU accession process.

“Given Taras’s high level of competence and experience in trade policy, he will combine this work with the European Union with his role as Ukraine’s trade representative under our bilateral trade agreements with key partners,” Zelenskyy stated.

The president emphasized that Ukraine has already achieved significant results in the negotiation process with the EU; however, it is necessary to intensify efforts on the open clusters and strengthen cooperation with European institutions and the governments of member states.

Zelenskyy added that one of the priorities remains the opening of the next negotiation clusters in the process of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.

This was announced on July 17 by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Andriy Butenko as Ukraine’s new Minister of Education and Science. Previously, he headed the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance, and he has now replaced Oksen Lisovyi, who had led the Ministry of Education and Science since March 2023.

The Rada prematurely terminated the parliamentary mandates of Maslov and Bezgin.
