Tishchenko came to court with some lard and a book by Plato

The High Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a preventive measure on People's Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko, who is a suspect in a case involving alleged "facilitation" related to call centers. The court set bail at 10 million hryvnias and imposed a number of procedural obligations on the lawmaker.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has determined a pretrial measure for Mykola Tyshchenko, a member of parliament from the “Servant of the People” party. He is suspected in a case involving alleged “facilitation” related to the activities of call centers.

The court ruled that the lawmaker may remain free after posting bail of 10 million hryvnias. Before the hearing began, Tyshchenko drew journalists’ attention with a statement. He said he had prepared for a possible arrest and brought his personal belongings with him. “I brought some lard, a book by Plato, photos of my children, and everything I need,” the MP said before the hearing began.

After posting bail, Mykola Tishchenko must comply with a number of court requirements. In particular, he is prohibited from leaving Kyiv without permission from the investigator, prosecutor, or court. The lawmaker must also wear an electronic ankle monitor, surrender his documents for traveling abroad, and appear whenever summoned by law enforcement.

The prosecutor’s office had requested a stricter preventive measure for the lawmaker. The prosecution insisted on pretrial detention with the possibility of bail set at 19 million hryvnias. In contrast, Tishchenko’s attorneys asked the court to deny the motion in its entirety. The defense argued that the suspicion is unfounded and not supported by sufficient evidence.

After reviewing the case materials, the High Anti-Corruption Court did not support the prosecution’s position on arrest but agreed with the need to impose a preventive measure on the MP in the form of bail and procedural restrictions. The investigation into the case is ongoing. The final decision on the MP’s guilt or innocence will be made by the court after considering the case on its merits. This was reported by hromadske.

Incumbent MP Mykola Tyshchenko has been charged with a new offense. According to the investigation, the charges relate to extorting $1 million for so-called “protection” of a call center’s operations, as well as laundering 12.6 million hryvnias through a fictitious gift agreement.

As a reminder, MP Tyshchenko will be forcibly brought to court in the case involving the beating of a former Kraken unit soldier.

A court in Dnipro imposed a pretrial measure on Mykola Tyshchenko, a People’s Deputy from the “Servant of the People” party, in the case involving the beating of a former fighter from the Ministry of Defense’s Main Intelligence Directorate unit “Kraken.”

MP Mykola Tyshchenko appeared in the Verkhovna Rada after his pretrial measure was eased. He is accused of unlawfully depriving a person of their liberty.

In October, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court held a hearing in the case involving MP Mykola Tyshchenko and former police officer Bohdan Pysarenko. They are accused of unlawfully depriving Dmytro Mazokha, a former fighter with the “Kraken” special forces unit, of his liberty.
