Trump let it slip, calling Zelenskyy "Putin"

During the NATO summit in Ankara, U.S. President Donald Trump accidentally referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as Vladimir Putin. Noticing the reaction from the audience, the American leader immediately corrected himself.

While speaking with reporters, Trump addressed those present, asking, “Do you have any questions for President Putin?” while pointing at Zelenskyy, who was sitting next to him. After laughter broke out in the room, he quickly corrected himself and clarified that he had meant the President of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy responded to the slip of the tongue with a smile.

In addition, during the event, Trump also made a slip of the tongue, referring to Japan as the “Islamic Republic.” He likely confused it with Iran.

Zelenskyy told Trump that Moscow is not a suitable location for negotiations due to the danger posed by drones.

Peskov stated that Trump did not call Putin after the talks in Ankara.
