Fruit Prices in Ukraine on August 7: What Has Gotten Cheaper and What Remains Expensive
As of August 7, 2026, fruit prices in Ukraine remain mixed. Strawberries, cherries, and blueberries are still expensive, while watermelons and blueberries have become cheaper.
At the same time, the prices of apples, bananas, lemons, oranges, and melons have remained virtually unchanged compared to the previous period.
According to the Ministry of Finance, current fruit prices in supermarkets are as follows:
Which fruits have dropped in price the most
The main peak of the strawberry and cherry harvest has already passed. These fruits have become more expensive and cost an average of 150 UAH/kg.
Blueberry prices on the Ukrainian market have fallen by nearly three times since the beginning of July. Currently, blueberries are selling for an average of 150 hryvnias, whereas in early July, wholesale shipments of blueberries were being sold for 300–350 UAH/kg.
A kilogram of plums costs an average of 50 UAH, while the “Ugork” variety sells for 25 UAH per kilogram. Raspberries have risen in price by 8.7% to 200–270 UAH per kilogram. The prices of pears and nectarines remained unchanged. Peach prices have held steady at their previous level, with an average selling price of 50 hryvnia per kilogram.
The supply of melons and watermelons on the market has risen sharply, which immediately affected the price of watermelons—they have become more than 11% cheaper, now selling for 7–10 UAH per kilogram. At the same time, prices for melons remain stable and are holding at the previous level—20 UAH/kg.
Price Forecast
The cost of imported fruits, such as bananas and oranges, will fluctuate in line with the hryvnia’s exchange rate against the dollar. Apples, however, may become more expensive as local farms run out of last year’s harvest.
At the same time, there is no reason to expect a significant reduction in the apple harvest in Ukraine. The new season may yield a larger gross harvest than last year.
Therefore, most Ukrainian fruit growers expect wholesale prices for apples to fall between January and May 2027. The most likely scenario is a price drop of 11–20%.
Apricots are already experiencing their seasonal price low, and prices may rise after the mass harvest is complete.
Raspberries and blueberries will remain in the high-price segment without a significant drop in price due to the negative impact of spring frosts and summer heat on the harvest.

In Ukraine, in August 2026, buckwheat may rise in price to 80–83 hryvnias per kilogram. Despite a slight decrease in price in July, there are currently no prerequisites for further price reductions, according to the Institute of Agricultural Economics.
In July, fresh-harvest vegetables became significantly cheaper in Ukraine, especially potatoes, carrots, beets, cabbage, and cucumbers. At the same time, some fruits, berries, and greenhouse vegetables remain expensive due to the heat, storage costs, and seasonal factors.
