In Bucha, police detained a man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a child
In Bucha, law enforcement officers quickly apprehended a 38-year-old man suspected of committing sexual acts against a young girl.
The suspect secretly entered someone else’s home through a window in the middle of the night.
The crime occurred on the night of June 14, 2026, in one of the city’s residential neighborhoods. At approximately 3:10 a.m., the police dispatch center received an emergency call from a terrified family reporting that a minor had been subjected to lewd acts.
Patrol crews and an investigative team immediately went to the specified address to determine the circumstances.
As law enforcement officers established during the initial investigation, the suspect targeted an apartment on the first floor of an apartment building. He quietly opened a window, climbed inside, and made his way into the child’s room, where the girl was sleeping.
Once he was next to the bed, the perpetrator began to touch the child inappropriately and hug her.
Fortunately, the victim managed to react in time and began loudly calling for help from her relatives. Hearing her daughter’s screams, the mother immediately rushed into the room, whereupon the attacker became frightened and hurriedly fled through the same window.
The woman immediately called law enforcement and provided a detailed description of the night visitor’s appearance.
As a result of well-coordinated investigative operations, detectives quickly identified the suspect and located him.
Law enforcement officers promptly detained the 38-year-old man in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
He is currently being held in a temporary detention facility pending the imposition of a preventive measure.
