Electric scooter rentals have been banned in Chernivtsi due to complaints

During its session on August 10, the Chernivtsi City Council passed a resolution to terminate the memorandums with three electric scooter rental operators—Bolt, Vevi, and Jet.ua—requiring the companies to completely remove their vehicles from the city’s streets.

The main reason for this move was numerous complaints from Chernivtsi residents about the haphazard parking of micromobility vehicles on sidewalks and regular violations of traffic safety rules by their users.

According to the resolution, which was approved by 22 council members, the companies have 14 days to dismantle charging stations and remove the electric scooters. If they fail to comply within the specified timeframe, the vehicles will be forcibly moved to a temporary storage facility.

This was reported by Zaxid.net.

New rules for electric scooters have been introduced in Lviv.

In the first four months of 2026, Ukrainians significantly increased their parking payments, and local budgets received tens of millions of hryvnias in additional revenue.
