In Dnipro, a man detonated a grenade while being detained by police
On the evening of June 5 in Dnipro, a grenade exploded during the arrest of a person involved in a fight. The offender was killed in the incident, and four patrol officers sustained injuries of varying severity.
According to law enforcement officials, a report of a fight near one of the buildings on Luhovska Street in the Amur-Nizhnedniprovskyi district was received by the police around 10:55 p.m.
Patrol police crews quickly arrived at the scene. During the arrest, one of the participants in the conflict threw a grenade at a law enforcement officer.
As a result of the explosion, the man who threw the explosive device died at the scene.
At the same time, four patrol officers sustained injuries of varying severity. All the injured were hospitalized, where they are receiving the necessary medical care.
To establish all the circumstances of the incident, an investigative team, the bomb squad, and other specialized police units arrived at the scene.
Law enforcement officers are conducting the necessary investigative actions and gathering evidence.
In connection with the attack on law enforcement officers, investigators have opened a criminal case under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
An investigation is currently underway to establish all the details and motives behind the deceased’s actions.

Earlier in Okhtyrka, a local resident detonated a combat grenade on the street, injuring the perpetrator himself, three law enforcement officers, and one passerby.
In Kyiv, a group of passersby attempted to prevent the detention of two conscripts by representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Center, forcing patrol officers to put their service weapons on standby.
