Igor Komarov, who was kidnapped and killed in Bali, was buried in Dnipro – video
The funeral of 28-year-old Dnipro resident Igor Komarov took place in Dnipro last weekend. The man, who was linked to the activities of the so-called Dnipro “offices” (fraudulent call centers), was kidnapped, brutally murdered, and dismembered on the Indonesian island of Bali in late February 2026.
Video footage from the burial site has appeared online. It is reported that on the eve of the funeral procession, one of Dnipro’s local media outlets published a story about new details surrounding this crime.
According to reports, the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) is currently handling the investigation into this high-profile case, having taken over the proceedings from the National Police of Ukraine. Since the SBI specializes in crimes committed by law enforcement officers, military personnel, and high-ranking officials, the reason cited for the change in jurisdiction is the appearance among the case’s suspects of a so-called “special subject”—an individual who, following the start of the full-scale invasion, regularly traveled abroad and settled in European countries. The author of the article also hinted at a possible connection between this investigation and recent forensic findings in the Kyiv region, namely the case involving the attempted assassination of businessman Vadym Yermolayev in Monaco. Yermolayev is also accused of working with fraudulent call centers in Dnipro.

As a reminder, in February 2026, Ukraine was shaken by news of a brutal murder on the island of Bali (Indonesia). Igor Komarov, a 28-year-old Ukrainian and the son of a crime boss from Kramatorsk, was kidnapped on February 15 in Jimbaran. The kidnappers demanded a $10 million ransom for his release. A video even appeared online showing a battered Komarov begging his parents and his girlfriend to pay the kidnappers.
At Indonesia’s request, Interpol issued a warrant for the arrest of the suspects—one Russian and three Ukrainians, including Vasyl Nemesh, a notorious Transcarpathian gangster with over 20 years of criminal history. Nemesh is considered the prime suspect in this murder. He is an experienced repeat offender whose criminal record began to grow in the early 2000s.
