Zelenskyy expressed a combative spirit ahead of talks with Trump at the NATO summit
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke positively about the initial results of the Ukrainian delegation’s work at the NATO summit, which is currently taking place in Ankara, Turkey. The head of state also commented on his state of mind ahead of an important bilateral meeting with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, scheduled for July 8.
According to the Ukrainian leader, preparing for the talks is a complex organizational process, but Kyiv’s resolve remains unwavering, as it is always necessary to maintain a “businesslike and combative mindset” ahead of meetings with President Trump.
Zelenskyy cited progress in establishing the Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition as the main outcome of the first day of diplomatic meetings in Turkey. This initiative aims to protect Ukrainian cities from strikes by Russian ballistic missiles, which currently remain a key threat, and involves both the urgent delivery of additional interceptors for the Patriot systems and long-term plans for the licensed production of such American missiles directly in Ukraine and Europe.
