Human remains were discovered in Huta Peniatska during a search operation
In the village of Huta Peniatska in the Lviv region, human remains showing signs of partial charring were discovered during joint Ukrainian-Polish search operations. Polish experts believe this may be a mass grave.
This was reported by the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland.
According to researchers, it is not yet possible to determine the full extent of the burial pit. However, the discovery of human remains has already been confirmed, and they require further examination.
Search operations in Huta Pieniacka have been ongoing since June 9 and are scheduled to conclude on June 18. Previously, experts also found remains near the foundations of a former church, but it is not yet possible to determine to whom they belong.
Oleksandr Alferov, head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, noted that the circumstances of the tragedy in Huta Peniatska remain a subject of debate among historians. According to him, search operations and exhumations must continue in order to establish all the facts.
