Yecherga has begun testing new rules for priority border crossings for trucks

UA NEWS 17 July 2026 14:00
Yecherga has begun testing new rules for priority border crossings for trucks

Starting July 17, 2026, the “eCherga” system began testing a new mechanism that will determine priority for trucks when crossing the state border.

This innovation is intended to help organize freight traffic more efficiently and make the border crossing procedure more convenient for carriers.

The introduction of this mechanism for companies with AEO status marks another step in the development of the customs simplification system and the expansion of benefits for compliant businesses.

Who Will Have Priority

One of the categories that will receive priority when the electronic queue is formed will be companies that have been granted Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status.

Preference will also be given to shipments carried out using T1 transit declarations or TIR carnets.

Verification of the availability and validity of the relevant documents will occur automatically thanks to the integration of the State Customs Service of Ukraine’s information systems with the “eQueue” system.

System Details

The new mechanism will operate on a 3:5 ratio. This means that after five non-priority trucks have passed through a border crossing point, three vehicles eligible for priority clearance will be allowed to proceed.

Testing of the new functionality will be conducted at all border crossing points where freight vehicles weighing more than 3.5 metric tons are processed.

Currently, 128 companies in Ukraine hold Authorized Economic Operator status.

This was reported by the State Customs Service.

The State Customs Service is launching a large-scale assessment of customs officers’ integrity and competence.

At the border, customs officersseized vintage postcards featuring Hitler from a woman from Kyiv.

Earlier, at the “Krakivets” border crossing, border guards and customs officers thwarted an attempt to transport Stradivarius violins across the Ukrainian-Polish border.

In Zakarpattia, at the “Malyi Berezny” border crossing, a woman attempted to take an antique icon and a printed publication to Slovakia. She was detained at the border by State Border Guard Service officers.
