In Kyiv, a court is determining a pretrial measure for the suspect in the murder of Anastasia Berezovskaya
A hearing has begun at the Pechersk District Court in Kyiv to determine a pretrial measure for Vladislav Reut, who is a suspect in the murder of Anastasia Berezovskaya. Berezovskaya is suspected of involvement in an attempted assassination of Ukrainian businessman Vadym Yermolayev in Monaco.
Judge Roman Novak is presiding over the case.
Before the hearing began, the suspect’s attorney, Anatoly Ivanov, stated that his client does not admit guilt.
“He is currently in a state of shock because, I repeat, he is a patriot who defended our country. And it is strange to him that this is how those who defended our country are treated. The family is under a great deal of stress,” said the defense attorney.
According to the lawyer, during the search, law enforcement officers did not find any prohibited items on Vladislav Reut.
“Some items with stains on them were seized. We’ll see what the experts determine those stains to be. A laptop, a phone, and a power bank were seized. And a printer, I think,” added Ivanov.
After hearing the parties, the judge announced a recess, after which the hearing on the preventive measure will resume.
