In Kyiv, a driver threatened a cyclist with a grenade following a traffic dispute

In Kyiv’s Dnipro District, a dispute between a car driver and a cyclist ended with death threats. The 23-year-old driver pulled out an object resembling a grenade and began intimidating the other road user with it.

The incident occurred on Voskresensky Avenue. According to the 40-year-old cyclist, the driver of a KIA forced him against the curb while driving, then got out of the car and began accusing the man of violating traffic rules.

During the altercation, the driver pulled out the “grenade” and threatened to use it. Police quickly located the man and detained him a few hours later in the Holosiivskyi district.

During a search, the 23-year-old Kyiv resident was found in possession of the object he had used to threaten the cyclist. Bomb disposal experts determined that it was a training grenade, not a live one.

The man was notified that he is suspected of making death threats. He faces up to two years of restricted freedom.
