A young man was arrested in Kyiv for disorderly conduct on a tram
Law enforcement officials have charged a 25-year-old resident of the capital with hooliganism for his actions inside a tram.
While the tram was moving, he was spray-painting graffiti on the walls. After being confronted by passengers, the man smashed a window and fled the scene. He faces up to five years of restricted freedom for this offense.
This was reported by the Kyiv Police.
Recently, the Kyiv Police received a report via the 102 hotline from a tram driver stating that on one of the streets in the Podil district, while the vehicle was in motion, an unknown man was spray-painting the walls with an aerosol can.
Law enforcement officers determined that the man, while inside the tram, began drawing graffiti on the walls. The strong smell of paint made one of the female passengers feel ill, and she asked the driver to call an ambulance.
The driver reported the incident to emergency services, while the perpetrator broke a window in the car and fled.
Police identified and detained the 25-year-old offender in accordance with Article 298-2 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The Investigation Department of the Podil Police Department has initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—hooliganism. The man faces up to five years of restricted freedom.
