In Korostyshiv, the pedestrian section of the bridge over the Teteriv River collapsed

In Korostyshiv, Zhytomyr Oblast, at around 10:00 a.m., the pedestrian section of the main emergency bridge across the Teteriv River collapsed, resulting in traffic disruptions in the city at this time. 

As stated in a video address by Yuriy Denysovets, secretary of the Korostyshiv City Council, there were no casualties or injuries. Due to the incident, the bridge will be completely closed to vehicles and pedestrians until experts from the State Emergency Service, the police, and the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration complete their inspection. 

To ensure connectivity between the Zarichchia neighborhood and the center of Korostyshiv, a detour route for public transportation will be organized. At the same time, the official noted that the project documentation for the reconstruction was developed back in 2022, but the repairs were not carried out due to a lack of funds.

Based on the results of inspections conducted in May, the two largest payment terminal networks—EasyPay (LLC “FC ‘Kontraktovy Dom’”) and City24 (LLC “Swift Garant”)—were hit with massive fines: 135 million hryvnias each.
