In Novovolynsk, a man attacked military personnel from the Territorial Defense Command with a knife
On August 12, in Novovolynsk, Volyn Oblast, during emergency drills, an attack occurred on military personnel from the Volodymyr Regional Territorial Center for Civil Protection and Emergency Situations who were working alongside police officers.
As a result of the incident, one of the servicemen sustained a stab wound to the abdomen and was hospitalized. Medical personnel assess his condition as serious. The second serviceman suffered an injury to his arm; after receiving medical attention, his condition is satisfactory.
The Regional Territorial Center for Civil Protection emphasized that the servicemen who were part of the emergency response team have combat experience. They were transferred to the Regional Territorial Center for Civil Protection and the Special Forces due to health reasons.
The agency noted that it is ready to fully cooperate with law enforcement authorities to ensure a comprehensive and objective investigation into all the circumstances of the incident. It also expressed its willingness to cooperate with the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Volyn region.
Police detained the assailant in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. The necessary investigative measures are currently underway.
The TCC condemned any acts of violence against veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war and expressed hope that the assailant will face severe punishment for his actions.

Zelenskyy reacted to the attack on TCC military personnel in Lviv.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that an important moment in the war is now unfolding for Ukraine. According to him, Russia no longer has an advantage on the battlefield, and the main tool remaining to Vladimir Putin is ballistic weapons.
Ukraine has received political approval to produce Patriot air defense missile systems, but a technical phase must still be completed before production can begin. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv is already ready for this step, and now everything depends on the speed at which Ukrainian and American specialists can work.
