The Verkhovna Rada Wants to Officially Adopt Ukraine's Spiritual Anthem
A draft resolution has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada that provides for the official adoption of Ukraine’s Spiritual Anthem. The initiative was supported by 61 members of parliament from six parliamentary factions and groups.
It is proposed that the “Prayer for Ukraine” (“O Great and One God”), set to music by Mykola Lysenko with lyrics by Oleksandr Konysky and edited by Oleksandr Koshyts, serve as the basis for the Spiritual Anthem.
If the document is adopted, the Spiritual Anthem will be performed during the National Day of Prayer, state memorial and commemorative events, interfaith ceremonies, official government celebrations, events involving the military, and sporting events. At nationwide events, it will be performed after the National Anthem of Ukraine.
