The Rada denies that the meeting is at risk of being disrupted due to "provocations" in the government district

The Ukrainian Parliament continues to operate as scheduled, despite rumors of possible incidents in the government district.

This was reported to Ukrinform by a source among the People’s Deputies—members of the “Servant of the People” faction.

The Verkhovna Rada administration emphasizes that security measures in the center of the capital remain at a consistently high level.

The government quarter has been under strict control by law enforcement and the military since the start of the full-scale invasion, which rules out the possibility of unauthorized access.

“This is the first I’ve heard of any provocations in the government quarter. As we know, the government quarter has been closed since the start of the full-scale invasion, and strict access procedures are in place for deputies, staff of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Presidential Office, the National Bank of Ukraine, and others. Journalists and residents of the area are also checked at checkpoints,” a source told Ukrinform.

Lawmakers are confident in the professionalism of the State Security Service and the police, who maintain order in the area where state institutions are located.

The agency’s source suggested that the alarming reports might have been merely an ironic reaction to statements by certain political strategists.

At this time, no decisions have been made to cancel sessions or postpone the plenary week. Lawmakers plan to work according to the approved schedule, fulfilling their legislative duties to Ukrainian society and the state.

“Things are changing rapidly in our country, but at the moment I see no grounds for canceling the entire plenary week,” the lawmaker noted.

He also added that rumors of a mass refusal by lawmakers to attend the session hall are exaggerated and have no real basis.

Reports that 60 lawmakers from “Servant of the People” and the former Opposition Platform—For Life would boycott the session have not been confirmed within the factions.

Although the issue of attendance remains relevant for every session, most deputies are at their posts.

“Poor attendance is a problem for every session. I wouldn’t say ours has been ‘perfect,’ but I have no idea where the number 60 came from. My colleagues and I are at our posts and plan to be there tomorrow to fulfill our duty to the state and the citizens,” the representative of the ruling majority concluded.

As a reminder, the session of the Verkhovna Rada scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2026, may not take place due to the lack of a quorum.

Additionally, Inna Yashchuk, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), is resigning early from her position as a member of the Khmelnytskyi City Council representing the “Servant of the People” party.
