In the Sumy community, 299 children will be granted the status of war victims
In the Sumy community, 299 children will be granted the status of war victims.
This was reported by the Sumy City Council.
The decision was approved by the Commission on the Protection of Children’s Rights.
During the meeting, more than two dozen issues were also considered, including social support, property rights, and the fulfillment of parental responsibilities.
Separately, individual social protection plans were approved for orphans, children deprived of parental care, and those in difficult life circumstances.
It is noted that despite the absence of active hostilities in the community itself, the front line runs approximately 6 km from its territory.
Questionnaires for children from the Kherson orphanage, who were taken away during the occupation, were found on a Russian adoption website. The documents contain no mention of Ukraine. The Ombudsman is calling on the international community to help bring the children home.
Russian energy companies may have been involved in financing the camps where the abducted Ukrainian children were taken.
