In Zhytomyr, a soldier in civilian clothes attacked passersby with a knife; two people were injured
In Zhytomyr, patrol officers detained a man who attacked passersby with a knife and seriously injured two people.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Patrol Police.
The incident occurred a few days ago on one of the city’s streets. While responding to a call, law enforcement officers noticed a man running across the street with a knife in his hands.
The officers stopped at a safe distance, drew their service weapons, and ordered him to drop the knife. The man complied, after which he was detained and handcuffed.
Meanwhile, another patrol crew found one of the victims near the scene of the attack. The man had lost a lot of blood, so the police applied a tourniquet and pressure bandages until medical personnel arrived. The victim was hospitalized.
During the identity check, it was discovered that the detainee was wanted for deserting his military unit.
Investigators informed him that he was suspected of attempted murder.
In the Khmelnytskyi region, a man opened fire on police officers during a document check. As a result of the attack, one law enforcement officer was killed and another was wounded.
In the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, an unknown person opened fire on people. According to preliminary reports, one person was killed and others were injured.
