Fires are being extinguished in the Chernobyl zone following the crash of Russian drones
Firefighting operations are ongoing in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone to extinguish fires that broke out on its territory as a result of enemy UAVs crashing.
This was reported by the State Agency for the Management of the Exclusion Zone, which noted that as of June 29, the fire at one of the nature conservation research facilities had been completely extinguished. Work continues in other areas to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further.

Firefighting efforts involve personnel from enterprises under the State Agency’s jurisdiction, units of the State Emergency Service (SES), and specialized equipment, as well as additional personnel and resources from the SES’s combined detachment in Kyiv Oblast. To monitor the overall situation, specialists are using video surveillance cameras and the capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Meanwhile, an automated monitoring system is continuously measuring radiation levels, and so far, no exceedances of the control levels for the equivalent dose rate of gamma radiation have been recorded.

Within the Chernobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve, scientists and staff have managed to track a unique herd of feral cows. It is extremely difficult to spot the animals in the summer—due to the abundance of food in the forest, they are constantly on the move and vanish instantly at the slightest sign of human presence.
The presence of the golden jackal has been officially confirmed in the Chernobyl Radiation-Ecological Biosphere Reserve. The animal had previously been detected through tracks and camera traps, but its presence has only now been definitively confirmed.
