Ukraine has reached an agreement with Middle Eastern countries on a one-year oil reserve — Zelenskyy

Ukraine has reached agreements with a number of Middle Eastern countries regarding the potential supply of oil and petroleum products in the event of a global shortage.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a meeting of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities.

According to him, the plan involves creating a reserve supply of energy resources for one year.

“We have agreed with some Middle Eastern countries that we will be able to have a one-year supply just in case there is a shortage everywhere,” the head of state noted.

He clarified that the agreements concern volumes specifically, not prices, as prices are determined by a formula.

Zelenskyy also expressed hope that energy prices would drop if the situation in the Middle East stabilizes and the Strait of Hormuz reopens.

“We will definitely not be left without fuel; we will not be left without diesel. That is the most important thing,” he emphasized.

Earlier, the Ministry of Economy explained the procedure to follow in the absence of a cashback for fuel purchases.

Why they offered fuel cashback instead of loweringprices.
