Ukraine is preparing for a new "Ramstein" in June and plans to hold a closed-door meeting with its partners, says Fedorov

The next meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the “Ramstein” format is scheduled to take place in June. In addition, Ukraine plans to hold a closed-door meeting of deputy ministers to discuss the PURL mechanism.

This was stated by Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov during a press conference.

“We will be preparing for the next meeting in the ‘Ramstein’ format, which will take place in June. We have a lot of homework to do,” Fedorov said.

He noted that Ukraine has already prepared a presentation on the PURL mechanism for international partners to demonstrate its priority and practical significance for the needs of the front lines.

“We can now see the difference between the first meeting and the second one I’m attending—we’re already on the same page. Everyone understands the priorities; everyone understands how this affects the front lines. This alignment is taking place,” the minister noted.

According to him, Ukraine has set a number of goals ahead of the next “Ramstein” meeting in June.

“In a month, we want to hold a closed-door meeting among deputy ministers to go over all the data and all the supply schedules, answer all questions, and thoroughly prepare for the group’s next meeting in June,” Fedorov added.

The 35th meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense in the “Ramstein” format is scheduled for June.

At Ramstein, a number of countries announced new contributions to the PURL program, Fedorov said.

Ramstein in Berlinfocused on drones and long-range missiles for Ukraine.

The 34th “Ramstein” meeting on support for Ukraine has begun in Berlin.

Also, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hagset will again not participate in the meeting of the “Ramstein” Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense, instead sending his deputy.

Additionally, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte will join the meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group on Ukraine’s Defense.
