Ukraine has received 20 Roshel Senator MRAP armored vehicles for humanitarian demining

Humanitarian demining units have received a new shipment of 20 Canadian Roshel Senator MRAP armored vehicles

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The delivery took place as part of cooperation with the Demining Coalition.

The main advantage of the contract was the availability of ready-to-use equipment from the manufacturer, which allowed for the transfer of specialized vehicles in the shortest possible time.

The procurement and delivery process was organized under high-risk conditions due to the enemy’s active use of unmanned aerial vehicles.

The ministry’s leadership emphasizes the critical importance of ensuring maximum safety for personnel while performing operations in frontline zones.

The joint efforts of the partners helped to quickly resolve this logistical challenge.

“Today, the threat from drones in mission areas forces us to act as quickly as possible, because the protection of personnel is the number one priority. Together with the Demining Coalition and the manufacturer, we achieved the nearly impossible: in just three months, we fully implemented a project to supply 20 modern Roshel Senator MRAP-class armored vehicles,” noted Major General Oleksandr Yakovets, Head of the Administration of the State Special Transport Service.

The delivered MRAP-class armored vehicles are equipped with special mine protection.

They will significantly enhance the safety of Ukrainian servicemen while carrying out tasks to clear the territory of explosive hazards.

The reinforced ballistic protection of the body and windows is capable of effectively neutralizing threats from explosions and small-arms fire.

The specialized high-mobility vehicle was developed by the Canadian company Roshel. A key feature of this vehicle is its V-shaped hull, which diverts the shock wave and debris away from the cabin during an explosion.

It is this design that significantly increases the crew’s chances of survival following a mine or improvised explosive device detonation.

The vehicle features high ground clearance, reinforced suspension, all-wheel drive, and a powerful diesel engine, enabling it to operate effectively off-road and in challenging combat conditions.

In addition, the Senator MRAP can be adapted for various tasks—from transporting personnel to medical evacuation or command-and-staff missions.

The design features a sealed armored capsule with 360-degree protection and reinforced door mechanisms.

To ensure effective environmental monitoring, the vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree video surveillance system and a thermal imaging camera with night vision.

Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with remotely controlled spotlights, a winch, and special compartments for equipment.

The vehicle is equipped with a protection system against weapons of mass destruction, which can filter chemical, biological, and radioactive substances, generating clean air inside.
