Ukraine and Bulgaria have signed a security cooperation agreement
On Monday, March 30, 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Bulgarian Prime Minister Andrey Gyurov signed a bilateral security agreement.
The document was signed during the Bulgarian prime minister’s visit to Kyiv, Interfax-Ukraine reports. Gyurov noted that this agreement is not a mere formality but reflects the long-term preparation and joint efforts of both countries to strengthen transatlantic security.
During a joint press conference, the parties emphasized the strategic importance of the document for stability in the Black Sea region and Ukraine’s further integration into Euro-Atlantic structures. The agreement provides for the coordination of efforts in the field of defense and security, which is critically important given the current geopolitical situation. Bulgaria has become the latest partner country to formalize its long-term commitment to supporting Ukraine. Thus, Andrey Gyurov’s visit concluded with concrete steps to strengthen intergovernmental defense cooperation.
