Ukraine and Serbia have signed a memorandum of cooperation on food safety
Ukraine and Serbia have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of animal health and food safety.
A Memorandum of Understanding to that effect was signed on Saturday at the “Serbia” Palace in Belgrade.
The document was signed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia and the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
The document was signed by Dragan Glamočić, Serbia’s Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management, and Oleksandr Litvinenko, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Serbia.
The signing ceremony was attended by the presidents of Serbia and Ukraine, Aleksandar Vučić and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the Serbian broadcaster RTS, the document provides for the development of cooperation between the countries on issues of animal health, food safety, and related areas of state control.
After signing the memorandum, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that Belgrade supports the UN Charter and the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“We are grateful to Ukraine for supporting Serbia’s territorial integrity,” Vučić said.
In response, Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Serbia for its respect for Ukraine, its support for the Ukrainian people, and the country’s territorial integrity.
The meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Serbia in Belgrade was part of negotiations on the further development of bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries.
