Ukraine Closes Popular Border Crossing with Hungary
On 10 and 11 March, traffic will be restricted at the Kosyno–Barabash border crossing on the Ukrainian–Hungarian border.
According to the Zakarpattia Customs Service, the temporary suspension of operations is due to technical upgrades: specialists will be connecting new working modules for customs officers and border guards to the electrical network. Citizens and vehicles will not be processed in either direction during the day — from 1 to 5 p.m. on the specified dates.
While Russia continues attempts to destabilise Ukraine’s logistics routes, border services are carrying out infrastructure modernisation to speed up inspections in the future. To avoid queues and delays, travellers are advised to plan their routes in advance and use alternative border crossings: Vylok–Tiszabech, Velyka Palad–Nodgyodosh, or Astei–Beregsurány(Berehove).
It should be noted that traffic on the Odesa–Reni highway has been fully restored for all types of transport.
Additionally, due to adverse weather conditions in Odesa and Vinnytsia regions, truck traffic across the border has been restricted.
