Ukraine is interested in the Taurus, but already has its own missiles with similar capabilities — Fedorov
The Ukrainian Armed Forces already possess missiles with a range comparable to that of the German Taurus or even exceeding its capabilities; however, Kyiv remains interested in acquiring additional such weapons.
This was stated by Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov during a press conference following a meeting with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
“When it comes to the Taurus, of course, we already have missiles with similar or greater ranges, but you can never have too many of these weapons. Therefore, of course, Ukraine is always open to acquiring more weapons,” Fedorov said.
He added that Ukraine is gradually achieving greater independence in this area thanks to the development of its own capabilities.
“In fact, today we are already gaining a certain degree of independence in this area. We have all seen strikes against Russia at a range of 1,500 km,” the minister noted.
Germany is strengthening Ukraine’s long-range capabilities through joint drone production.
Germany has simplified arms export procedures for Ukraine and the Gulf states.
