A Ukrainian company has developed the Inguar-4 six-wheeled armored vehicle

The defense company Inguar Defence has developed the Inguar-4 armored vehicle on a 6x6 three-axle chassis of its own design, which is an evolution of the previous model.

Artem Yushchuk, the company’s CEO and co-founder, told Military about this.

The new platform features an additional axle with independent suspension, which significantly improves its off-road capability and load capacity for use as a heavy weapons carrier or recovery vehicle.

The first Inguar-4 prototypes are in the final stages of assembly as armored recovery and evacuation vehicles (AREVs) equipped with specialized hydraulics. The vehicle is designed to recover damaged Inguar armored vehicles, as well as the MaxxPro, Novator, Kozak, and M113 models, which are popular with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The base cost of the chassis with the front capsule is over $500,000, which is significantly cheaper than foreign counterparts, while the vehicle features 30 mm of composite armor.

The development of new domestic armored vehicles is taking place against the backdrop of the successful use of the previous Inguar-3 version for transporting UAV operators and the destruction of rare Russian radar systems by border guards. While Russia attempts to exert pressure on the front lines, Ukrainian engineers are ensuring the logistical resilience of units through their own production of special steels and alloys. It is expected that upon completion of testing, the Inguar-4 will enhance the Defense Forces’ capabilities to repair damaged equipment directly on the battlefield.

As a reminder, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has certified and authorized the new Ukrainian-made “Shvidun” unmanned aerial system for use by the Armed Forces.

Previously, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and approved for use in the Armed Forces the Ukrainian-made JEDI Shahed Hunter unmanned aerial system.

Recently, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine codified and approved for use in the Armed Forces three fiber-optic FPV systems manufactured by enterprises of JSC “Ukrainian Defense Industry.”
