Ukrainians are exempt from tax on online income up to 2,000 euros

In Ukraine, parliament has approved Bill No. 15111-d, which provides for the introduction of automatic data exchange regarding the income of digital platform users. According to the bill, online services will automatically transmit information about citizens’ income to tax authorities. At the same time, tax breaks are provided for income up to 2,000 euros.

Separately, the bill stipulates that online alcohol sales will be conducted exclusively through the Diya app. The document also provides for a reduction in the personal income tax rate for citizens who officially rent out real estate.

Administration of income people receive from digital platforms

The bill introduces a simplified and more transparent system for administering the income of citizens who work through online services—specifically taxi drivers, couriers, and sellers of goods via marketplaces.

It is anticipated that the digital platforms themselves will handle tax administration.

According to the adopted decision, the tax rate for such income has been reduced from 23% to 10%.

Separately, the law provides a tax exemption for citizens who sell goods through digital platforms: income up to 2,000 euros per year will be tax-exempt.

The law is linked to fulfilling obligations to international partners and meeting the requirements of the IMF and the EU.
