A new heat wave with temperatures reaching +35° will hit Ukraine in early August
After a brief cold snap, hot weather is expected to return to Ukraine. According to a meteorologist’s forecast, air temperatures in some regions could rise to +35 °C in early August.
Natalia Ptukha, a meteorologist at the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, reported this on television.
“The rise will be quite noticeable, especially toward the end of the week on the Right Bank—that is, in the western regions, and to some extent in the central and some northern regions as well. Temperatures in the last days of July and the first days of August will reach 30–33°,” Ptukha noted.
According to her, intense heat is expected on July 31 in Zakarpattia and on August 1 in most western regions—temperatures will reach around 35° and even higher.
The meteorologist noted that it will be possible to predict the duration of this hotter period a little later.
“For now, we’re seeing a gradual rise in temperatures through the end of this week,” the Ukrhydromet representative noted.
As a reminder, June’s heatwave in Europe led to significant losses in agriculture. The cost of the destroyed grain crops is estimated at more than 2 billion euros, with farmers in France and Hungary suffering the most.
The meteorologist forecast thunderstorms for July 28 and explained when the heat would return.
The heatwave in Belgium caused the highest rate of excess mortality in Europe.
