Ukraine is set to experience severe weather; forecasters have warned of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hail on July 9
On Thursday, July 9, a significant deterioration in weather conditions is expected in Ukraine. Meteorologists are forecasting thunderstorms, heavy rain, hail in some areas, and gusty winds in a number of regions.
The highest probability of inclement weather will remain on the Left Bank of the country, where heavy precipitation and squalls are possible. Residents of these regions are urged to exercise caution when outdoors.
According to the forecast, thunderstorms will occur on the Left Bank of Ukraine. At the same time, heavy rains are expected in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

During the day, hail and wind squalls with speeds of 15–20 m/s are possible in some areas of the eastern regions and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Due to the adverse weather conditions, meteorologists have issued a Level I hazard warning (yellow).
The State Emergency Service warned that the severe weather could disrupt operations at energy, construction, and utility companies, as well as affect traffic. Rescue workers are urging citizens to be cautious, monitor weather forecasts, and follow safety guidelines during thunderstorms and strong winds.

Earlier, a heavy downpour flooded roads in western Ukraine.
Heavy rain in Rivne Oblast led to flooding on a section of the M-06 Kyiv–Chop international highway near the village of Varkovychi. This caused a traffic jam stretching for several kilometers, and police were forced to implement alternating traffic.
