Ukrposhta reported damage to its infrastructure and injuries to its employees caused by Russian drones

Ukrposhta reported damage to its infrastructure and injuries to its employees caused by Russian drones

Russian troops attacked Ukrposhta facilities in several regions of Ukraine at once, striking infrastructure in Kyiv, Sumy, Nikopol, as well as in the Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions.

Following the overnight strikes, the damaged facilities in Kyiv and Sumy have already been restored, while branches in the Sumy region continue to operate using generators.

During the day, an enemy drone attacked the company’s depot in Nikopol, where seven service vehicles had previously been destroyed by shelling; however, because operations had been shifted to a backup location, only the buildings sustained damage this time. In addition, two more drone attacks occurred in the Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy regions, resulting in minor injuries to Ukrposhta employees. The injured received the necessary medical care and are currently safe. Despite the new attacks, the company continues to operate, and the damaged vehicles and buildings will be replaced and repaired.

This was reported by Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi.

A search-and-rescue operation is ongoing in Kyiv following a massive Russian attack. According to Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, 20 deaths have been confirmed so far.

As a result of the massive Russian attack on the night of July 2, public transportation routes in Kyiv have been altered. This is due to damage to the overhead contact system, a lack of power, and efforts to clear up the aftermath of the enemy shelling.
