Ukrposhta has introduced card payments for its services in all localities
As of May 1, for the first time since independence, bank card payments became available in 100% of Ukraine’s settlements.
This was announced by Ihor Smilianskyi, CEO of Ukrposhta.
According to Smiliansky, it is now possible to pay by card even in the smallest villages and in settlements near the front line—provided there is a signal.
This has been made possible by Ukrposhta’s mobile branches and the introduction of POS terminals in its mobile units.
Currently, the service covers over 25,000 settlements, with more than 1,850 mobile branches operating daily
Smilyansky emphasized that the project was implemented during the war without using budget or grant funds.
He also stated that Ukrposhta was effectively the first in Ukraine to ensure full accessibility of card payments in all settlements.
By the end of June 2026, the company plans to expand its functionality and launch cash withdrawals and bank card reloads
Also, by the end of the year, all mail carriers will receive mobile terminals, which will allow them to accept card payments even in the homes of people with disabilities.
Separately, the company is preparing an application for a banking license for the “Ukrposhta.Bank” project.
Once launched, the service is expected to allow the use of bank cards even in offline mode, which should further expand access to financial services in the country.
