Ukrzaliznytsia has made it possible to order books along with train tickets
Ukrzaliznytsia passengers can now order Ukrainian books when purchasing tickets for select international and domestic trains. The purchased book will be waiting for the passenger in the train car at the start of the trip.
The company notes that this initiative is intended to support Ukrainian publishers, bookstores, and authors who continue to work despite Russian attacks.
According to Ukrzaliznytsia, more than 10 million books have been destroyed in Ukraine in recent months due to Russian strikes on warehouses and printing houses.
“By buying a Ukrainian book, you are supporting publishers, bookstores, and everyone who continues to work and create new stories despite Russian attacks,” the company said.
Books can be ordered when booking tickets for international flights to Poland, Hungary, Moldova, and Romania, as well as on a number of flagship domestic trains.
These include the “Sakura,” “Hutsulshchyna,” “Yednist,” “Les Kurbas,” “Skovoroda,” “Sicheslav,” “Chornomorets,” “Stefania,” “Bukovyna,” and “Leopolis.”
Passengers can also redeem “Obiymashki” points earned through the UZ loyalty program for offers from book partners. These include Readeat, “Abuk,” “Knyholand,” Librarius, “Knyharnya Ye,” Megogo Books, “Knyholav,” and Ukraїner.
