Ukrzaliznytsia has launched new children’s compartment cars, decorated in the “Fairy-Tale Ukrainian Forest” style and adapted for travel with children.
The first three cars are already in service on trains running the Lviv–Odesa and Kharkiv–Ivano-Frankivsk routes. Three more cars are planned to be added in the near future.
Tickets are available only through the carrier’s mobile app and are specially marked “Children’s.” The cost is the same as for a standard compartment, and children under 5 can travel for free without a separate seat.
The cars are equipped to meet the needs of children and parents. Specifically, they feature playpens for sleeping, safety guards on the shelves, additional handrails, changing tables, baby food warmers, and ramps for easy access.
The cars also feature a special children’s menu and audio stories played during the trip.
Ukrzaliznytsia notes that the project aims to create comfortable and safe travel conditions for the youngest passengers.
