Ukrzaliznytsia fired the train conductors who beat a 17-year-old passenger

“Ukrzaliznytsia” fired two conductors on the Khmelnytskyi–Kyiv train following an incident involving a 17-year-old passenger at the Fastiv station in Kyiv Oblast. Law enforcement is investigating the case.

The incident occurred on train No. 858K traveling from Khmelnytskyi to Kyiv

A user of the social media platform Threads was the first to report it the day before.

According to her, a drunk male conductor and a female conductor pushed the underage passenger out of the car at Fastiv Station. The boy had a ticket, and his mother was waiting for him on the train.

The post also noted that after he fell to the ground, railway employees would not allow the boy to return to the car.

“Train 858K. Khmelnytskyi–Kyiv, Passenger Class 1 car, Fastiv stop. A drunk male conductor and a female conductor threw a boy, about 15 years old, right onto the ground. As it turned out later, the conductor hit the boy so hard that he literally flew out of the train and fell to the ground. After that, they wouldn’t let the boy back on the train—even though he had a ticket and his mother was waiting for him in the car,” the eyewitness reported.

After reports of the incident surfaced, “Ukrzaliznytsia” announced the dismissal of both employees and stated its readiness to cooperate with the investigation.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the minor told law enforcement that the conflict arose after he began filming the railway employees on his phone.

The boy claims that the video showed the conductor and the engineer consuming alcohol while on duty.

“The minor got off the train at Fastiv Station. Prior to that, he had been filming on his cell phone what he claimed were the conductor and the engineer consuming alcoholic beverages. After that, a conflict arose between the boy and the conductor. According to the victim, the railway employee refused to let him return to the train and inflicted bodily harm on him, the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The prosecutor’s office has opened a criminal case regarding hooliganism committed by a group of individuals under Part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Law enforcement officials are currently investigating all the circumstances of the incident, including verifying information about possible alcohol consumption by “Ukrzaliznytsia” employees.

This was reported on August 19 by the press service of “Ukrzaliznytsia” and the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Amid systematic threats of missile and air strikes, passengers are reminded that they are prohibited from remaining in train stations, on platforms, and on tracks during an alarm. If an alarm is sounded, passengers must immediately proceed to the nearest shelter, and if none is available, move to a safe distance, taking cover behind concrete structures or natural terrain features away from the tracks, glass facades, display boards, high-voltage power lines, and crowds of people.
