The Office of the President of Ukraine provided details on Ukraine's security agreement with Bulgaria

The security cooperation agreement between Ukraine and Bulgaria marks the 29th such agreement signed by Kyiv as part of the implementation of the G7 Joint Declaration. The Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU) has provided details of this security agreement, which expands international support for Ukraine.

This was announced on Facebook by Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the OPU.

The agreement, signed on March 30 in Kyiv, establishes clear commitments by Bulgaria regarding further military support for Ukraine. These commitments pertain to the supply of weapons, military vehicles, and equipment. Specifically, this includes critically important equipment manufactured in Europe, the United States, and Ukraine

A separate section is dedicated to the training of Ukrainian military personnel—Bulgaria will continue and expand training within the framework of EU and NATO missions, as well as on a bilateral basis.

This involves systematic training, including programs for instructors, capacity building in the areas of UAVs, counter-UAV operations, electronic warfare, and special operations, as well as language training for personnel and pilots

In addition, both countries agreed to work on integrating the Ukrainian defense industry into the European defense technology base, using EU instruments such as EDIS, EDIP, and SAFE, as well as to develop joint production and localization in Ukraine.

Cooperation in the security sector is being significantly expanded: from intelligence sharing to countering hybrid threats, cyberattacks, and disinformation.

Separately, they agreed to strengthen coordination to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, demining, and the strengthening of regional security.

The agreement also sets out Bulgaria’s clear political stance: support for Ukraine’s membership in the EU and NATO, support for reforms, and a willingness to share its own experience with European integration.

The agreement also provides for a clear response mechanism: in the event of a new escalation or renewed aggression, emergency consultations within 24 hours to determine joint steps.

The document is valid for 10 years from the date of signing and lays the foundation for a long-term strategic partnership between Ukraine and Bulgaria.
