Rain, frost, and strong winds are expected in Ukraine on April 7

On Monday, April 7, the weather in Ukraine changed dramatically due to the arrival of a cold front. Rain, a drop in temperatures, and nighttime frosts are expected.

This was reported by meteorologist Natalka Didenko on Telegram.

According to her, most of the country is now behind the cold front, so daytime temperatures will drop to +6…+9 degrees.

It is still warmer in the south and east—from +9 to +13 degrees—but the cold snap will spread to these regions as early as April 8.

On April 7, wet weather with periodic rain will prevail, and the next day, even wet snow is possible.

“Warning! Frosts are possible at night in the west, north, and in some parts of the central regions!” the meteorologist cautioned.

In addition, strong northwesterly winds are expected, which in some places will intensify to storm-force gusts of 15–20 meters per second.

In the capital on April 7, the air temperature will be +7…+9 degrees, with possible rain and gusty winds. According to the forecast, after a cold snap, warmer weather will return to Ukraine around April 14–15.

On April 6, severe weather with stormy winds and hail raged in western Ukraine. The Volyn, Rivne, and Lviv regions were hit hardest. Photos and videos of the storm’s aftermath circulated online: in particular, streets in Lutsk were covered in hail, and in some areas, squalls damaged roofs and destroyed greenhouses.

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has released a forecast for the second month of spring, according to which temperatures and precipitation will remain within the climatic norm.

After a cold winter, Ukrainians are looking forward to spring warmth, but April will bring not only sunshine but also weather “swings.”
