There are 26 foreign pharmaceutical companies operating in Ukraine that have not left the Russian market

There are currently 26 foreign pharmaceutical companies operating in Ukraine that are also present in the Russian market.

This was stated during the presentation of a specialized study.

According to experts, nearly half of these companies are deeply integrated into the Russian economy, specifically through their own production facilities, rather than merely supplying products.

The study showed that for most of these manufacturers, the Russian market is significantly more important than the Ukrainian one—their revenues there are 4–9 times higher.

At the same time, the share of imported medicines in Ukraine remains significant: about 40% in volume terms and up to 60% in monetary terms.

Experts warn that this creates risks for supply stability, especially if companies choose a priority market.

Proposals include reducing dependence on imports, developing local production, engaging alternative suppliers, and building strategic drug reserves.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers authorized the sale of over-the-counter medicines at gas stations. Gas station employees will be able to dispense medications under a license, and the premises must have a separate area for storing medicines. The decision is intended to make medicines more accessible, particularly in rural areas and frontline regions.

The Ministry of Health and the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection have been tasked with monitoring prices for certain medications to prevent price hikes.
