The downward trend in strawberry prices continues on the Ukrainian market. Producers are continuing to lower their prices due to increased supply. Currently, farmers are selling strawberries at prices ranging from 80 to 170 hryvnias per kilogram. This is approximately 15% cheaper compared to last week’s figures.
“Producers are forced to lower prices in this segment due to the rapid growth in the supply of berries from local farms, while demand for this product remains relatively stable,” the publication states. — “At the same time, most market operators note a fairly high percentage of substandard berries this season. Heavy rainfall has significantly reduced the quality of the produce.”
Currently, strawberry prices in Ukraine are on average 11% lower than during the same period last year.
At the same time, key market players do not rule out further price declines in this segment as early as next week, writes EastFruit. Thus, the supply of strawberries on the market continues to grow, while the quality of the berries offered does not always satisfy consumers.
