In Ukraine, veterans can receive up to 95,000 hryvnias for rehabilitation
Ukraine has begun accepting applications for financial assistance for veterans who, as a result of the war, have a Group I or II disability due to vision loss. The maximum payment amount is up to 95,000 hryvnias and is intended to help adapt their housing and living conditions.
Payment Details and Timeline
Funds provided with the support of the Red Cross will be deposited into recipients’ special accounts between August 1 and October 30, 2026.
The purpose of this assistance is to create a comfortable and safe living environment for veterans.
What the funds can be used for
The program allows recipients to choose items from a list of 26 types of goods. The list includes specialized assistive devices and household appliances:
smartphones with screen-reading features;
adaptive household appliances;
special navigation systems.
How to Apply
The application period has already begun. You can apply for support in several ways:
In person or through an authorized representative.
By mail.
Online.
You must contact the department responsible for veteran policy at your place of registration. For internally displaced persons (IDPs), apply at your current place of residence.
More about the program
The government announced a new program to support veterans in May. The maximum payment is 95,000 hryvnias. Up to 2,000 hryvnias is also provided to cover related banking services.
The funds can be used to purchase devices from a specified list, which includes 26 types of equipment. The veteran is free to choose specific devices. Assistance is provided regardless of whether the person receives other types of social benefits.
This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on Telegram.
As a reminder, the government has expanded housing rental compensation for veterans: who is eligible and how much they can receive.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted, in the second reading and as a whole, draft law No. 12295-d, which provides for compensation for the costs of mandatory civil liability insurance for owners of land vehicles (OSCPV) for certain categories of the population.
